A plate heat exchanger (PHE), also known as gasketed plate heat exchanger (GPHE) or plate and frame heat exchanger, comprises a pack of spaced corrugated plates arranged such that the two heat exchanging fluids flow through alternate spaces in the pack. The corrugations maintain the gap between adjacent plates which are sealed against each other.
HRS Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers are manufactured as standard from either AISI 304/316 stainless steel or titanium to a thickness of 0.6mm, although plate thickness options of 0.8mm or 1.0mm are also available if required. The exchangers are fitted with EPDM or NBR gaskets with the frames constructed from painted carbon steel. Types of gasketed plate heat exchangers - Alfa Laval - TypesWideGap gasketed plate heat exchangers are designed for fibrous fluids and for fluids containing coarse particles. The wide gaps between plates allow fibers and particles to easily pass through the heat exchanger with minimum clogging. Typical applications:Sugar; Bioethanol; Pulp and paper; Petrochemicals; Condensers for heat recovery
