The most common type of air cooler is the horizontal coil with horizontal fan and vertical air flow. This type is typically driven by an electric motor drive attached to the fan through v-belts to allow for speed reduction between the motor and the fan. This model can also be driven by hydraulic motors, air motors and even from an engine with special right angle gear drive arrangements.
